How GLP-1s Work
GLP-1s act across key pathways of aging

Medications that affect the whole body require ongoing care. Without oversight, early changes can be missed and long-term outcomes compromised.
0-6 mo.
Critical adjustment period
Early months require guidance for dosing, tolerance, & progress for long-term success
2x
Longer on therapy
Ongoing support keeps patients on GLP-1s 2x longer, maximizing long-term benefits
9+
Systems affected
GLP-1s influence brain, heart, kidney, & more. Tracking biomarkers across these systems enables better care
85%+
Muscle mass preserved
With guidance, patients preserve lean muscle through targeted protein and strength protocols
Most GLP-1 programs fall short
Typical programs
Weight-loss medication
Success measured by the scale
Medication dispensed, then automated
Side effects, dosing issues, and drop-off go unchecked
Unseen biological consequences
Muscle loss, metabolic tradeoffs, rebound risk
Short-term weight change
Limited opportunity for system-level, long-term benefit
Multi-system intervention
Success measured across the body
Clinician-led care with ongoing oversight
Dosing, tolerance, and response actively managed
Decisions guided by biological feedback
Biomarkers and symptoms used to protect long-term health
Long-term healthspan
Designed to support aging, resilience, and metabolic health
Clinician-guided GLP-1 treatment
Your clinician reviews your medical history and goals to determine eligibility and guide the right treatment choice, including injectable or oral options.

DATA-DRIVEN CARE
Changes in metabolic function, inflammation, organ health, and body composition unfold over time — and those changes vary from person to person. We track these markers to help guide care decisions, adapt your program as your body responds, and understand whether the approach is supporting long-term health.

GLP-1s improve insulin sensitivity and glucose control—these markers reveal your metabolic improvements over time.
Losing fat while preserving muscle mass is the foundation of healthy aging and sustained metabolic health.
GLP-1s reduce cardiovascular disease risk by improving lipids, cholesterol ratios, and inflammatory markers.
GLP-1s reduce systemic inflammation, a key driver of aging, with measurable improvements in immune and metabolic markers.
GLP-1s have protective effects on liver and kidney function, with measurable improvements in organ health markers.
GLP-1s have neuroprotective effects and may reduce dementia risk through improved metabolic markers and cognitive function.
GLP-1s reduce appetite, making it harder to meet nutritional needs—monitoring essential vitamins, minerals, and protein ensures proper fueling.
GLP-1s affect gut motility and appetite—monitoring GI symptoms helps optimize your comfort and medication tolerance.
YOUR ACTION PLAN
Science-backed strategies to optimize your healthspan

Personalized titration plans for you

Your starting dose is tailored to your history, prior GLP-1 use, and sensitivity so you can ease in comfortably and build a strong foundation.
We adjust your dose slowly to find the minimum effective dose that supports your goals and reduces the need for unnecessary increases.
Once your dose is optimized, we help you transition into a steady rhythm that supports stability, confidence, and sustainable progress.
If you reach a plateau or your goals change, we adjust your dose—up, down, or steady—to keep your treatment working for you.

Frequently asked questions
Healthspan uses GLP-1s as a longevity and metabolic health tool—not just for weight loss. Our membership integrates clinician-prescribed medication, personalized dosing, 1:1 coaching, and biomarker tracking to support muscle preservation, cardiometabolic health, and long-term outcomes.
GLP-1s affect appetite, muscle mass, energy, and multiple metabolic systems over time. Healthspan’s membership provides access to licensed clinicians and PhD-trained health experts who interpret labs, guide dosing decisions, and help mitigate side effects. Ongoing coaching ensures medication is paired with evidence-based nutrition, movement, and recovery strategies—so outcomes support long-term metabolic and longevity health, not just short-term weight loss.
Prescription eligibility is determined by a licensed Healthspan clinician. They will review your medical history and goals and typically prescribes a GLP-1 as part of your care. We don’t rely on BMI alone—prescribing decisions are based on overall metabolic and health needs.
Through membership, Healthspan clinicians may prescribe brand-name GLP-1s like Wegovy® or Zepbound®, or non-branded semaglutide when appropriate. If you’re already on a GLP-1, we can also support and optimize your existing prescription.
The GLP-1 membership includes clinician review and prescribing, personalized dosing and titration, 1:1 coaching, and ongoing biomarker and lifestyle tracking. Membership starts at $99/month. Medication costs are billed separately based on the prescription and pharmacy used.
Yes. If you’re already prescribed a GLP-1 elsewhere, Healthspan can support your care through membership. Your care team reviews your labs, symptoms, and treatment response, provides coaching to improve outcomes, and offers guidance you can share with your prescribing clinician regarding dosing, tolerance, and long-term strategy.
